ByteDance denies any intention of selling TikTok

Chinese company (ByteDance) denied today, Tuesday, that it has the intention to sell its famous application to share short video clips (TikTok), after a report published by Bloomberg News Agency on Monday, in which it stated that the company wants to sell the application to avoid accusations of threatening the American national security.

Reuters quoted the head of the "Tik Tok" app - (Alex Joe) - as saying, "From time to time, you may read incorrect news in the media. Today there is an inaccurate report alleging that ByteDance has considered selling the Tik Tok app in whole or in part. ” Joe added, “We made it explicit, saying that was not true, but they decided to publish it anyway. I want to assure you that we have not had discussions with potential buyers of Tik Tok, and we do not intend to do so. ”

A ByteDance spokeswoman declined to comment on the internal memo but confirmed that "there have been no discussions of any partial or full sale of the" tic-tok "application. 

ByteDance seeks to protect the app Tik Tok - which is popular among teenagers, especially in the United States - from its Chinese operations with the aim of reassuring officials in the United States that the personal data held by the application is stored securely in the United States, and will not be infiltrated by the authorities Chinese.

The U.S. Foreign Investment Commission, which is reviewing deals made by foreign acquirers in search of potential national security risks, is considering a $ 1 billion purchase of ByteDance for 2017, a deal that laid the foundations for the app's rapid growth.
